Monty Sharma weaves monsoon magic with Mirch

Composer Monty ‘Saawariya’ Sharma, the man who weaves celluloid magic with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s flick is now making waves again. This time with some spicy entertaining music. So he got old friend Shankar Mahadevan to lend his vocals to Javed Akhtar’s powerful lyrics for a sensuous monsoon number ‘Kaare Kaare Badra’ for the film Mirch directed by Vinay ‘Godmother’ Shukla.

The recording took place at Purple Haze studios, Bandra. Shankar was at his melodious best and Monty Sharma was more than elated at his vocals. Javed Akhtar sat back and enjoyed his lyrics get their melodious due at the hands of Monty and Shankar.

Said Monty, “I felt that only Shankar’s voice would do wonders for this song. So I asked him. He is an old friend and immediately said yes and here we are. Shankar is simply superb.”

Shankar was obviously touched at Monty’s gesture. “He is an old friend. We know each other from very long. And it was a pleasure to sign him. He has given some very interesting numbers and this one is particularly a beautiful one with classical vocals and modern music interwoven into one song.

Javed Akhtar felt the film by Vinay Shukla was “different.”

“It is a pleasure having makers who make different films. Then you get the independence and the scope to pen what you feel. I simply loved working on this film. And Monty has breathed life into the words.”
