With a population of over 1.25 billion you would believe that they have a huge market in India.
But we are always made to wait for every new product of Apple. Samsung on other hand every now and then release their products first hand in India. Samsung Galaxy Tab is a great example of that.
Update : Iphone 4s will be released in US, Canada, UK, France, Germany on 14th October.
But before Christmas Iphone 4S will be launched in 70 countries, and India surely will be one of them. So Iphone 4S will be launched in India in December. If you can't wait till then, please continue reading on.
Well Apple must have their own reasons not to Sell Iphone 4S in India from day one, but this does not mean you can't own one before Christmas.
If you are living in India and want to buy an Iphone 4S here are your options.
1) The most popular way of buying one is to have someone buy or order Iphone 4s in USA from India via some family or friend and ship to India. Iphone 4S will be first released in US market so you have to ask one of your family or friend living in US to buy one for you and ship to India.
Warning: Please make sure that the new IOS 5 on which Iphone 4S will run has it jailbreak software in market before you even think of buying one. The Iphone sold in US is network locked and can not be used outside of network. That's why you need jailbreak software to unlock it and use it with Indian Carrier Providers.
2) Keep on checking news about Iphone 4S release in countries like Canada/UK. In Canada Iphones are sold network free at little higher prices, but that means you wont have to jailbreak your phone. It will be released before Christmas hopefully in these nations.
3) But it from Indian Grey Market, Well we all know that Iphones are manufactured in China, so there are plenty of dealers in India that sell Iphones imported from China (they are not fake). mostly it's by word of mouth that you will get to know about these dealers in Delhi or Mumbai and you can buy an Iphone 4S on a similar price as in Canada.
4) Wait till next year :) Well there is saying if you wait for an apple product too long you will never be able to buy one, as there is always a better one on card.
Next year in October apple might finally introduce Iphone 5, so if you already have an Iphone 4 then it's better to wait till then.
